By booking an appointment, requesting on-site dispatch, utilizing our online repair estimator, or approving repair work, you expressly agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and Conditions of Repair.
2. Scope of Mobile & On-Site Services
We provide professional mobile computer support, diagnosis, hardware maintenance, software configuration, scam tool remediation, and data recovery across Greater Brisbane and surrounding western suburbs.
Services include but are not limited to:
- On-site diagnosis and repair of Apple Mac (MacBook Air/Pro, iMac, Mac Mini) and Windows PC systems.
- Laptop hardware repairs: LCD/Retina screen replacements, hinge rebuilds, battery replacements, fan overhauls, and thermal servicing.
- System optimization, bit-for-bit NVMe SSD upgrades, and clean operating system installations.
- Forensic malware and remote-access tool purges following phone scams or cyber incidents.
- Issuance of signed Bank Clearance & Digital Security Reports for financial institution fraud compliance.
- Patient in-home senior technology support, printer networking, and home Wi-Fi setup.
3. Flat Pricing & Payment Terms
We operate under a transparent flat-fee pricing model to eliminate ticking-clock hourly anxiety:
- Standard Labour Service Fee: Flat $150–$170 for standard on-site computer diagnosis, troubleshooting, software resolution, or hardware installation.
- Zero Call-Out Fee: No travel charge applies to standard mobile service visits within our primary Greater Brisbane service perimeter (including Indooroopilly, Toowong, St Lucia, Ashgrove, Kenmore, Paddington, and inner-city Brisbane).
- Upfront Quotation: If a job requires replacement hardware parts (e.g., new LCD panel, replacement battery, new SSD), you will be provided a firm, transparent quotation before any physical hardware replacement begins.
- Payment Timing: Full payment is strictly required upon completion of the work on-site, prior to technician departure.
- Accepted Payment Methods: We accept Visa, Mastercard, EFTPOS, Instant Bank Transfer (Osko / PayID), and Cash. Invoices are issued digitally via email or SMS with our registered ABN.
4. "No Fix, No Fee" Diagnostic Guarantee
We stand behind our technical expertise. Our "No Fix, No Fee" guarantee ensures you are protected:
Exclusions & Clarifications:
- If the technician accurately diagnoses the fault and proposes a definitive repair (e.g. damaged motherboard, cracked screen requiring replacement, or dead drive), but you choose not to proceed with the proposed repair due to device age or financial preference, our standard diagnostic fee applies.
- If a device is deemed Beyond Economical Repair (BER) where replacement costs exceed machine value, the diagnostic inspection fee applies for the professional assessment provided.
- If repair cannot proceed due to customer refusal to provide essential system credentials, BitLocker recovery keys, or Apple ID passwords necessary to perform service, standard diagnostic fees apply.
5. 0% Parts Markup Policy & Component Warranties
We believe in transparent pricing. Replacement hardware parts (such as genuine MacBook Retina displays, Samsung NVMe SSDs, Corsair/Crucial RAM, and OEM replacement fans) are supplied at transparent retail cost with 0% markup.
- Manufacturer Hardware Warranties: All new hardware parts supplied carry their original manufacturer or distributor warranty (typically 12 months to 5 years, depending on the component).
- Labor & Workmanship Guarantee: Our installation labour and workmanship are backed by a comprehensive 90-Day Workmanship Guarantee. If an installed component develops an issue attributable to our installation within 90 days, we will rectify it on-site free of charge.
- Customer-Supplied Parts: If you supply your own components for installation, our workmanship guarantee applies strictly to our installation labor; we cannot warrant the functionality or longevity of third-party hardware sourced by the customer.
6. Data Responsibility, Backups & Drive Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted under Australian Consumer Law:
- We are not liable for any pre-existing corrupted sectors, catastrophic read/write head collapses, ransomware-encrypted partitions, or data loss occurring due to hardware failure prior to or during diagnostic handling.
- If a system requires an operating system reinstallation, we will endeavor to preserve your personal data folder structure whenever feasible, subject to drive health and customer authorization.
- For dedicated data recovery services, recovery success depends on physical magnetic/flash drive integrity. No recovery fee is charged if zero recoverable files are retrieved from a dead drive.
7. Bank Clearance Reports & Fraud Removals
When assisting victims of unsolicited remote access scams (e.g., AnyDesk, TeamViewer, UltraViewer, or fake tech support callers), our service involves an exhaustive on-site forensic purge of remote agents, persistent registry run keys, rootkits, and keystroke loggers.
- Official Security Certificate: Upon completion, we issue an Official Signed Bank Clearance & Digital Security Report detailing the forensic wipe, network verification, and device security status.
- Bank Acceptance: Our reports are regularly accepted by fraud departments of major Australian institutions (Commonwealth Bank, ANZ, NAB, Westpac, Suncorp, Bendigo Bank) to assist in unfreezing accounts.
- Disclaimer: While we certify the clean technical state of the computer hardware and software at the time of inspection, we do not guarantee financial reimbursement, refund, or insurance claim approval, which remain at the sole discretion of your financial institution or insurer.
8. Customer On-Site Access & Environment
To ensure safe and efficient mobile service delivery:
- An adult (18 years or older) must be present at the premises for the entire duration of the service visit.
- The customer must provide reasonable, safe access to the premises, standard electrical power, and a clean, well-lit surface (such as a desk or kitchen table) for laptop bench testing.
- Safe vehicle parking or clear visitor parking instructions must be provided upon booking.
9. Workshop Repairs & Equipment Custody
While 90%+ of repairs are resolved in-home, certain complex micro-soldering, deep ultrasonic cleaning, or multi-day data recovery tasks may require temporary transport to our Indooroopilly component bench:
- A written equipment intake receipt will be issued documenting the device model, serial number, and physical condition.
- Your device will be secured in electrostatic-safe transport cases and returned promptly upon completion.
- Uncollected Goods: Any equipment left in our custody for more than 60 days following completion notice without payment or collection will be dealt with pursuant to the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act 1967 (Qld).
10. Limitation of Liability & Consumer Guarantees
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), including guarantees that services will be provided with due care and skill, fit for any specified purpose, and within a reasonable time.
Subject to your statutory rights under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth):
- Our total liability for breach of any non-excludable consumer guarantee is limited, at our election, to either the re-supply of the repair services or the payment of the cost of having the services re-supplied.
- In no event shall Brisbane Computer Repair or its technicians be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of business profits, personal revenue, or intangible data.
